Brewing Liubao Tea
How do I brew Liubao tea?
Use 5g of tea per 100ml of water. Heat water to 95-100C (203-212F). Rinse the tea briefly with hot water, then steep for 10-15 seconds for the first infusion. Gradually increase steeping time for subsequent infusions. Liubao tea can be infused 8-12 times.
What does Liubao tea taste like?
Liubao tea has a complex flavor profile that evolves with aging. Young Liubao offers earthy, woody notes with a clean finish. Aged Liubao develops notes of dark chocolate, betel nut, dried fruit, and warm spice, with a smooth, velvety mouthfeel.
How should I store Liubao tea?
Store Liubao tea in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from strong odors, direct sunlight, and excessive humidity. Keep the tea in its original packaging or in a breathable ceramic jar. Liubao tea continues to age and improve over time when stored properly.
Can I drink Liubao tea every day?
Yes, Liubao tea is suitable for daily consumption. It contains lower caffeine than green or black tea and is known for its digestive benefits. We recommend drinking it after meals for optimal digestion support.
Nixing Pottery Care
How do I care for Nixing pottery?
Rinse Nixing pottery with warm water before first use. After each use, rinse with warm water and allow to air dry completely before storing. Avoid using soap or detergent, as the porous clay can absorb flavors. Never expose Nixing pottery to sudden temperature changes.
Can I use Nixing pottery in the microwave or dishwasher?
No, Nixing pottery is not microwave or dishwasher safe. Hand wash only with warm water. The porous clay and handmade nature of Nixing ware make it unsuitable for machine washing or microwave use.
What makes Nixing pottery special?
Nixing pottery is one of China’s Four Famous Potteries, with over 1,000 years of history. It is hand-thrown from local red and purple clay from Qinzhou, Guangxi. The unique kiln-firing process creates natural color variations (窑变) that make each piece one-of-a-kind. Its porous yet durable nature is ideal for brewing and enhancing tea.
